select a seed word below nearest-neighbour cluster · one antonym embedded

Field Lab

A seed word, rendered into meaning-space and ringed by its nearest neighbours. They all sit close — that's what "related" looks like to a machine. Buried among them is the one word that means the opposite. Find the antipode.

Pick a seed to embed:

The honest part (Ryan's whole point): vector embeddings place antonyms right next to synonyms — "scorching" and "frigid" share almost the same neighbourhood, because they show up in the same sentences. Proximity can't tell you direction. That's the trap. You have to read the meaning. Spend a sentence when you're stuck.
